You have just bought a patch of forest upstream. The road out is poor and the sawmills are downstream, so the river is the only way the timber can travel. Fell, float and sell, and build a forestry business out of it.
Start with one axe
Click to fell trees, hook logs out of the water, split firewood and push the first wheelbarrow to the buyer. Then hire your first lumberjack and watch them walk in along the forest path. Everything you buy turns up on the map.
Thousands of logs, every one of them simulated
Every log bobs, bumps and drifts on the current. Jams form where the river narrows or the wood yard backs up. Break them with a pike pole, or hire raftsmen who pole out on their rafts and do it for you.
From wheelbarrow to freight train
Over fifty upgrade lines across the forest, the river, the wood yard and your own hands. Harvesters and forwarders join the axe crews, horse carts give way to lorries and barges, the sawmill grows into an industrial mill, and in the end the railway comes for the timber.
A valley that lives
The seasons turn from spring flood to winter ice. At dusk the lamplighter goes round the yard one lantern at a time. The cook calls the crew in to eat, someone slips off to fish, and now and then a moose steps out of the trees.
A real ending, then the next river
Reach the Great Spring Drive in about six hours: a million logs delivered and the timber monopoly bought out. Then break the boom and take the drive to the next river, with medals, perks and four playstyle switches to try.
